How to set up spend tiers for Multiple Markets on Cart Drawer
If you sell to customers in different countries using Shopify Markets, you can create separate Spend Tiers for each market. This lets you set thresholds in local currencies and adjust rewards for different regions.
If your store only uses one market, see How to Set Up Spend Tiers instead.
How Spend Tiers Work Across Markets
Your default market is the main setup. Other markets can either use the same Spend Tiers as the default market or have their own separate settings.
This means that if you want the same setup everywhere, you only need to configure it once.
Set Up Your Default Market First
Start by opening your cart drawer editor and going to the Spend Tiers tab. Turn on Spend Tiers for your default market, which appears at the top of the market list.
Then set up your tiers as usual and click Save.
Set Up Additional Markets
Every market you have in Shopify will appear in the list. To configure one, find the market you want, turn it on, and click the market name to open its settings.
Each market can be set up in one of two ways.
If you choose Use [default market] tiers, that market will use the same thresholds and rewards as your default market. The amounts will still be shown in the customer’s local currency.
This is useful when the same tier structure works well across all markets and you are happy to use Shopify’s currency conversion.
If you choose Use specific settings for this market, that market will have its own separate Spend Tiers. You can set different thresholds and rewards in that market’s local currency.
This is useful when you want to choose exact local amounts, such as £40 instead of a converted value, or when you want to offer different rewards in different regions.
Set Up Market-Specific Tiers
When you choose Use specific settings for this market, the tier settings for that market appear below. You can then set them up the same way as you would for your default market.
Changes you make to the default market will not affect markets with their own specific settings. In the same way, changes made in a market with specific settings will not affect the default market.
Turn Spend Tiers Off for a Market
You can turn Spend Tiers off for any market by using the toggle next to that market.
When a market is turned off, customers in that market will not see Spend Tiers in the cart. Other markets will continue using their own settings.
Example
Here is one example of how this could be set up across markets:
- United States uses the default setup: $50 for free shipping, then $100 for 15% off
- Canada uses specific settings: CAD $65 for free shipping, then CAD $130 for 15% off
- United Kingdom uses specific settings: £40 for free shipping, then £80 for 15% off
- Australia uses the default setup, with the same tiers shown in AUD
Add Translations
Each market can also have its own translated reward messages.
To add translations, open the Translations section in the market settings.
