Staff notifications

As well as emailing your customers, Essential Subscriptions can email you and your team about subscription activity — so you know when subscriptions are created, when customers churn, and when payments or inventory fail.

To manage these, go to SettingsEmail notifications to store staff.


Where Notifications Are Sent

Staff notifications are sent to your store's email address. If you'd like them sent somewhere else, reach out to our support team to change it.


The Notification Groups

Staff notifications are organised into three groups, and each group has its own delivery frequency.

New event notifications

  • New subscription
  • Resumed subscription
  • Unskipped order

Churn notifications

  • Cancelled subscription
  • Paused subscription
  • Skipped order

Failure notifications

  • Payment failed (any attempt)
  • Failed attempt due to insufficient inventory

Tick the events you care about in each group and untick the ones you don't.


Choosing How Often You're Notified

Each group has a Get notified dropdown that controls how the emails are batched:

  • For every event — get an email immediately each time it happens
  • Every day
  • Every 3 days (default)
  • Every 7 days
  • Every 14 days
  • Every 30 days
  • Never

Tip: On a busy store, For every event can mean a lot of email. A digest like Every day or Every 3 days keeps you informed without flooding your inbox.


Saving Changes

A save bar appears when you make changes. Click Save to keep them.
