Subscriptions in the Cart Drawer: Plan Name, Subscribe and Cancel Buttons
If your products sell as subscriptions, the cart drawer can show the plan on each line and let customers switch between one-time purchase and subscription without leaving the cart.
The cart drawer works with the selling plans your subscription app creates. It does not create or manage subscriptions itself.
Where to find the settings
- Open your cart drawer in the editor.
- In the left menu, click Product line item.
- Scroll to the Subscriptions card.
The four options
| Setting | What customers see |
|---|---|
| Show selling plan name under product name when subscription is added to cart | The plan name, like Delivery every 30 days, under the product name |
| Show subscription upgrade button | A button on one-time purchase lines that can be subscribed. One click switches the line to the product's first subscription plan. Default text: Subscribe & Save. Use {discount} to show the plan's discount |
| Show subscription cancelation button | A button on subscribed lines. One click switches the line back to a one-time purchase. Default text: Cancel subscription |
| Enable subscription editing | A dropdown on the line to switch between plans or to one-time purchase. Set the plan text with {plan_name}, {delivery} and {interval}, and the labels for day, week, month, year and one-time purchase |
Good to know: the subscribe and cancel buttons never show on the same line. A line without a plan can get the subscribe button. A line with a plan can get the cancel button. Products that can only be bought as a subscription never show the cancel button.
The buttons don't show on free gift lines.
Style the buttons
On the Design tab of Product line item, the Subscribe & save button and Cancel subscription button cards set each button's background, border, and text weight and size.
Translate
All subscription texts can be translated in the Translations card of Product line item.
