How do offer prices work with currencies and Shopify Markets? (Essential Upsell app)

Essential Upsell shows prices in the shopper's Shopify Market and currency. You do not enter a separate offer price for each market. Shopify supplies each product's price for the shopper's market, and Essential Upsell applies the discount to that price.

  • Percentage discounts are applied to the market price. A 10% discount on a US$100 product shows $90 to a US shopper, and the equivalent amount in the local currency to a shopper in another market.
  • Fixed-amount discounts are converted into the shopper's currency at Shopify's exchange rate. A fixed discount set in US dollars is not subtracted as a literal number from a price in another currency.

Market-based pricing depends on your Shopify Markets setup. Make sure the markets and currencies you sell in are set up in Shopify. Also note that if you set up offer targeting by market, the offer may not appear in every market.

To check prices, open the storefront from a country in each market and compare the offer price with the product price.
