How are orders and revenue attributed to an offer in Analytics? (Essential Upsell app)
An order is counted for an offer only when the customer buys through that offer. Essential Upsell adds a tracking property to the line item when the customer adds the offered product through the offer. Buying the same product or reaching the same quantity without using the offer is not counted as a conversion for that offer.
- Revenue uses the final price the customer paid for the line, including discounts.
- Added revenue is the extra value the offer brought in, based on the offered line.
- Volume discounts use the final quantity in the completed order to decide which tier applies.
- Post-purchase offers count when the customer accepts the offer on the post-purchase page.
Example: a customer buys enough units to reach a quantity discount without choosing the offer. The order is a normal Shopify order, and it is not included in that offer's added revenue.
