How do the Combinations settings work with my other discounts? (Essential Free Gift BOGO BXGY app)

Each offer has a Combinations section on the Offer tab with three boxes:

  • Product discounts (on by default)
  • Order discounts (on by default)
  • Shipping discounts (off by default)

A ticked box lets the gift offer apply on the same order as other discounts of that type, such as automatic discounts or discount codes from Shopify or other apps.

📌 Good to know:

  • Both sides must allow it. Shopify only combines two discounts when each one allows the other. Also check the combination settings of your other discount in Shopify → Discounts.
  • Free shipping offers need the Shipping discounts box. If you also run free shipping, tick Shipping discounts, or the gift may not be free at checkout.
  • Two Essential Free Gifts offers follow the same rule. They stack on one cart only when each allows the other's discount type. When they can't, the offer created first wins for that cart.
  • Shopify can count a free gift discount as both a product and an order discount. If another order discount still won't combine, make sure it allows combining with both product and order discounts.
