Why is the Shopify preview bar missing from my store? (Essential CRO Split AB Testing app)

Essential A/B Testing hides Shopify's theme preview bar on purpose. Theme tests work by showing a different theme to some visitors, and the preview bar would show the wrong theme to them.

The preview bar is only ever shown to logged-in staff, never to customers, so your store isn't affected.

If you need the preview bar to review a draft theme:

  • add &eaPreview=true to the end of the preview URL, or
  • use the Preview option in the app, which adds this for you, or
  • temporarily turn off the Essential A/B Testing app embed in that theme while you review it. Don't do this in a theme that's part of a live test.
