Discount Not Applied: Main Reasons and Solutions
If a discount from the Upsell Funnel is not being applied, it may be due to one of the following reasons.
Below are the main causes and their respective solutions to help you resolve the issue:
Upsell Funnel Type and Logic
There are two types of Upsell Funnels, and each follows a different discount logic:
• Cross-Sell Type:
This type does not require the trigger item to be in the cart for the discount to be applied.
• Frequently Bought Together Type:
This type does require the trigger item to be present in the cart for the discount to be applied.(You can select this type on the “Content” tab of Product Upsell in the app.)
Ensure you understand which Upsell Funnel type you are using and confirm that the trigger item is added to the cart if you are using the Frequently Bought Together type.
Discount Was Removed or Unpublished
If the discount was removed or unpublished from Shopify Admin, it will no longer apply through the Upsell Funnel. For example, if you deleted or unpublished a discount named “Discount” from Shopify Admin, it will not work with our application.
To fix this:
• Re-publish the discount in your Shopify Admin.
• If you have deleted the discount, simply re-publish your Upsell Funnel from our application. This will automatically recreate the required discount on your Shopify Admin.
You have more than 60 Upsell Funnels published
If you publish more than 60 Upsells, the Discounts will stop working on all of the existing Upsell Funnels because there is a limitation from the Shopify side of how much data can be passed where only up to 60 Upsells can work at the time.
To fix this:
• Make sure there are no more than 60 Upsells are published at the time.
