How does the processing cutoff time work? (Essential Estimated Delivery Date app)

The Processing cutoff time (in the widget's Conditions tab) is the time of day after which a new order starts processing one day later.

  • Before the cutoff: the order counts from today, and the {counter} variable counts down to the cutoff.
  • After the cutoff: one extra day is added to processing, and the dates move forward.
  • Processing only counts your Processing working days and skips processing blocked dates. Transit only counts your Order transit days and skips transit blocked dates.

📌 Common mix-ups:

  • 12 AM is midnight and 12 PM is noon. If your counter shows the wrong number of hours left, check the AM/PM setting first.
  • The cutoff uses the shopper's clock. The app compares the cutoff with the clock on the shopper's device, not your store's time zone. Shoppers in other time zones reach the cutoff at their own local time. If you sell to markets in very different time zones, you can create a separate widget per market with an adjusted cutoff. See How to set up Estimated Delivery Widget in Different Markets.

For how the delivery window itself is calculated, see How Delivery Dates Are Calculated.
