Plans and billing: what each plan includes (Essential Preorder app)
This article explains the Essential Preorder & Back in Stock plans, what each one unlocks, how billing works, and how to change or cancel a plan. It is for shop owners choosing a plan or checking what they pay for.
Monthly limits and what happens when you reach them are covered separately: Preorder limits and Back in Stock notification limits.
The plans
| Plan | Price | Preorders / month | Back in Stock notifications / month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 | 300 |
| Lite | $4.95/month | 100, then $0.25 per order | 1,000, then $1.00 per 100 |
| Starter | $8.95/month | 300, then $0.20 per order | 2,500, then $1.00 per 100 |
| Essentials | $24.95/month | 500, then $0.10 per order | 10,000, then $1.00 per 100 |
| Professional | $59/month | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Prices are in USD and billed through Shopify, so they appear on your Shopify invoice. Limits count per calendar month and reset on the 1st.

- Custom sender email from your own domain, and your store logo in emails
- Translations for every campaign text
- Scheduled campaigns with start and end dates
- Collect payments in bulk for partial-payment balances

- Buttons in Quick buy modals
What Starter adds on top of Lite

- Don’t allow mixed carts with your own error message

Same features as Starter with higher limits, cheaper overage on Essentials, and no limits at all on Professional. Both include priority support. Professional adds a free setup call.
Free trial
Every store gets one 14-day free trial of a paid plan. The plan button reads Start FREE 14 days trial while it is available, and Select plan once it has been used. Days left are counted from the first day you started a trial.
Choosing or changing a plan
- Open Pricing plans in the app.
- Tick I agree with Terms & Conditions.
- Click the plan’s button. Shopify shows its approval screen. Approve it.
- You return to the app with Plan successfully selected. If you upgraded from Free, any Back in Stock notifications that were waiting are sent now, and you can republish preorder campaigns that were paused.
Moving between paid plans takes effect immediately. Shopify prorates the charge.
Discount codes
Pricing plans has a Discount code field. Enter the code and click Apply promo code. Discounts usually apply to the first month or months, and each code can be used once per store.
Cancelling a plan
On Pricing plans your current plan shows Cancel plan. Cancelling moves the store to the Free plan. The confirmation lists what changes:
- At 25 preorders in a month, preorder campaigns are unpublished until the count resets next month.
- At 300 Back in Stock notifications in a month, notification emails stop until the count resets.
- Paid features stop working: translations, email customisation, preorder confirmation emails, payment collection, Omnisend and Flow as senders. Sales channels ticked under Accept preorders in channels are cleared.
Uninstalling the app also cancels the subscription. Shopify stops billing at the end of the current cycle.
30-day money-back guarantee
Write to us within the first 30 days of a paid subscription and we refund it through Shopify’s billing. No questions asked.
Managed plans
Pricing plans also shows Fully Managed Plan (we build and run your campaigns, with a dedicated account manager and a personal Slack channel) and One time setup (we set up preorder or Back in Stock once, added to any paid plan). Both start with Book a call.
Founder plan
Stores that installed the app in its early days are on a legacy Founder plan with unlimited preorders and notifications at no cost. It is not offered to new stores. If you are on it, keep it: it may not be available again once you switch.
