How to Connect Judge.me to Essential Loyalty
Connecting Judge.me lets you award loyalty points automatically when customers leave a product review — points are granted the moment a review is approved, no manual work needed.
Connect your Judge.me account

Important: Judge.me needs to recognize an existing session in your browser before it can authorize the connection. This is the most common reason "Connect with Judge.me" fails — so step 1 below isn't optional.
- In your Shopify admin, open the Judge.me app and make sure you're logged in — in the same browser you'll use for the next steps.
- Next, open the Essential Loyalty app's Settings → Integrations, and under Product Reviews click into Judge.me.
- Click Connect with Judge.me.
- A popup opens for you to log in and authorize the connection. Approve it there — that screen and its wording belong to Judge.me.
- Once approved, the popup closes and the page updates to show a green Connected badge, with a Disconnect button in its place.
There's no API key to enter anywhere — the steps above are the entire connection process.
Set the point value for reviews

Connecting Judge.me automatically adds a Review rule to your program, already enabled — you still want to open it and set how many points it's worth:
- Go to Program, and find Review in the Points list.
- Open it, set the point value, and save.
Important: the Review rule only appears once Judge.me is connected — before that, there's nothing to find in the Points list, and no need to add it yourself with + Add (that's for creating other rules). If Judge.me is disconnected later, the Review rule turns off with it.
How points get awarded
- Points are granted only when a review is approved in Judge.me — pending or spam reviews never earn points, and this isn't a setting you can change.
- Reviews are checked automatically as they come in — there's nothing to click or trigger on your side.
- Only reviews submitted after you connect earn points. Reviews that already existed on Judge.me before connecting don't retroactively earn anything.
Good to know: if you later unpublish a review that had already earned points, those points are not clawed back. Unpublishing only stops that review from being visible — it doesn't reverse the reward.
There's no setting for a minimum star rating or "verified purchase only" — every approved review earns the same flat point value, regardless of rating.
What this integration does (and doesn't do)
This is a one-way connection: Judge.me tells Essential Loyalty when a review is approved, and that's it. No customer or loyalty data is ever sent to Judge.me.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect on the Judge.me settings page. This takes effect immediately — there's no confirmation step. Reviews already approved keep whatever points they already earned; you just stop earning new ones going forward.
